Cloven Stone Cottage is a two-level, 5-Star cottage that sleeps 4 with room for two couples or a great choice for families with older children needing a bit of privacy and space of their own.

With handmade dining furniture from “Out of the Woods“, and a fine collection of Toulouse Lautrec prints, the stonework in Cloven Stone Cottage is visually enhanced and adds a rustic appeal and quality to this luxurious cottage retreat.

The ground floor of this impressive Lake District cottage boasts two double bedrooms, each with a full ensuite bathroom. One of these bedrooms can also be configured as a twin bedroom. Walk through the living area straight to your elevated private balcony and enjoy the 30-mile views. Plan to spend some time investigating the sheer relaxation of the cottage’s hot tub. Or grab a book or magazine and enjoy the small patio area in the courtyard below.

The location of Monkhill Farms – which lies in the foothills of the Caldbeck Fells, leaves you conveniently located in the Lake District and near the three city centres of Keswick, Penrith, and Carlisle, and for day trips to the Southern Lakes, Hadrians Wall (through Carlisle) and even Southern Scotland. For a closer-in village experience, don’t overlook your local villages of Caldbeck and Hesket Market.

If you’re looking for a great way to spend a day in the Lake District and the Fells, here is a description of a wonderful day spent walking written by a recent traveler to the area.

A relaxing 5-Star stone cottage, scenic walks, a great location, and a lot of history…if these options suit your idea of a great vacation, Cloven Cottage should be your next destination.
