Dream Property of the Day – Piemonte, Italy
by admin on Dec.07, 2011, under Dream Property of the Day
I haven’t done a “Dream Property” for awhile. I tend to get rather lost imagining myself in some 15,000 square foot French chateau or an Irish castle. That jolt back to reality can’t be managed too often!
But one CAN and should still dream. Here’s a great Italian candidate:

It’s not too far from Milan, Monte Carlo (Monaco) – Cote d’Azur or Venice. It has a private, consecrated church on the property, a 17th century mill, and 18th century horse stables.
There’s even an 18-hole golf course just 3 kilometers ( just over 1 mile) away.
The spectacular grounds and incredible scenic views will fight with the Italian architecture and stonework for your attention.

According to the owner you’ll not only own this castle, but a little bit of history as well:
“This 14th-century castle was built on a previous ancient military Tower belonging to the Emperor Frederick I, count Palatine of Swabia, called the Barbarossa.”
I can well believe it!
Need room to spread out? How about slightly over 32,000 square feet of habitable space with:
~ 6 rooms and a kitchen on the ground floor
~ 5 rooms on the first floor
~ 6 rooms on the second floor

The 75 +/- acre property with castle is completely furnished with period pieces, uses economical gas heating, and there is even WiFi for you when you decide to return to this century!
More about the Piemonte (Piedmont) region of Italy.
Asking price is negotiable at around US$8 million. Please contact the owner at Viviun.com for further details…

The beautiful Château du Jardin truly earns the title of “Dream Property.”

Château du Jardin
Located just 50 minutes from Brussels near the French border, the Château du Jardin on its 12 acre park setting is also eco-friendly. Try finding another 1780-built chateau that can boast this capability along with traditional architectural elements!
The chateau’s electricity is produced by solar panels that sit atop the woodshed. With a supply containing 5-years worth of hardwood for burning, heating is provided by a state-of-the-art wood-fed furnace with all wood grown on the château grounds.

The Château du Jardin offers both French and English gardens along with nut trees including walnut, chestnut and hazel. There are other exotic species such as American Sequoia, Burgundy Oak and a variety of rare Dutch elms. Adding further to the ambience of the chateau – bike and horse trails abound in the area and the Dendre canal with its walking and biking trails, is nearby. Surrounded by neighborhood farms that practice organic and sustainable farming, locally-produced vegetables, fruit, breads, cheese and meats are readily available.

This marvelous 3-story chateau boasts 12 bedrooms and 3 baths and can easily accommodate 20 persons.
