Traveling with American Presidents
As I was writing the first group of Destination pages I realized that a lot of travel is to see historic areas. What better place to start historic travel then to spend travel time with each American president?
How did they travel in George Washington’s day? How long would it take to get from point A to point B and by what means of transportation? How about in Andrew Jackson’s day? Had anything really changed by then?
Many people don’t realize that these Founding Fathers and earlier Presidents completed a LOT of travel and spent months if not years of their lives on the road. More recent candidates have it easy by comparison.
It should be an interesting journey…and just in case anyone is curious…
Andrew Jackson is, by far, the most “searched for” President – followed by James Madison and in third, John Quincy Adams.
